This class is designed for the advanced incoming freshman art student to explore a variety of media while delving further into the Elements and Principles of Design. This course builds on the concepts taught in the foundation classes and Art III and is designed to provide an overview and appreciation of the Visual Arts. Students will study and discuss artists and art movements in current and historical societies and cultures. There will be an emphasis on improving drawing and design skills as well as applied aesthetics and critical feedback. Students will be encouraged to create works of art that reflect their uniqueness and deal with significant ideas that possesses personal meaning.
